For the 2008 fiscal year, in spite of a growth in revenue, EA reported a net loss of over 450 million dollars. 300 million of that was caused by an accounting error which shortchanged EA's total revenue, but that still leaves them with 150 million dollars in net losses. I'm hoping (though I don't see it as particularly likely) that this signals the beginning of the end of EA's relevance and profitability in the gaming industry. Now, if only BioWare and what was once Westwood weren't shackled to the corpse that could (and hopefully will) be EA. :-\
