I downloaded some codecs,and I think I did it correctly.Is there any way to check the list of codecs just to make sure they are installed and functioning correctly?

Hmm, I am not exactly sure how to check. What media player are you using? The one I usually recommend is "VLC" media player since it supports just about every format and can play many videos that windows media player can't.

Best test is to try loading up media that uses said codecs, see if it plays properly.
