America's Army: PC - Your Thoughts / Who has it and plays it?

I downloaded this free game (3 gig download btw). It isn't too bad at all... I think it's on par with a Battlefield 2 style of game (for comparison purposes only). It is different and has it's uniqueness to it. It is well made in my opinion.

Post up your opinions. Also, who has this and plays online?

I just upgraded to the 2.8.2 version I believe it is.

Is it worth it? I mean, pretty much any game is worth free, but is it worth 3 gigs of my space and download time?
 
its one of the free games that are good and that isnt actually a MMO

Some free games i suggest:
Americas Army
Quake 3
Gunz: The Duel
Cave Story
Halo Zero
 
i started playing AA 2.5 but i dont think its compatible with windows vista, everytime i try to join a server im emidiatly kicked out :-\, other AA players who use windows vista have this same problem too.
 
Did you not have enough experience? or honor points (forget the name of that)?

I have a hard time parachuting... :lol I keep eating the ground.

This is a pretty good game though. I can't believe they made an X-box version though.

Anyone else play this?

I used to play a while back, but I never really enjoyed this game. Not sure why. I sat through every single training session at least once and passed everything, but something about the gameplay just disappointed me.

I do remember having a hard time telling my teammates and enemies apart.
 
I thought the game was kind of an average run of the mill shooter with an army propaganda theme thrown in. It's decent tactical action but I didn't care for it really.
 
There was this guy who saved 2 people from a dangerous car wreck and reportedly saved them from some of the things in America's Army. Take that Jack Thompson. :p

I don't think Jack Thompson can really get mad at a military-created/funded game. :p

Anyway, I never tried this, mainly because my friends told me it's just advertisment for the Army.
