Anybody played silent hill 2 lately?

I played through Silent Hill 1 during summer of 2005. I have picked up Silent Hill 2 on the PS2, but after getting used to the play controls on FFX, the SH2 controls seem a little slow. I've been wanting to play through the game, but it'll be a while 'til I have time.

i played it awhile ago, along with the third one. these are games u dont wanna play alone, scarier than any movies i can think of

Silent Hill, what a wonderful series, I have the entire collection. Each one gets more disturbing as you go lol

Playing Silent Hill 4: The Room on Xbox and "The Room" needs redecorating. Or at least a few posters or something, it's kinda bland. :P

I actually just beat Silent Hill 1 last night....And all I can say is WTH??? Seriously weird ending but man, that's one of the better games I have played in a while. Definitely scarier than Resident Evil! Now I'm gonna beat part 3 since I don't have 2, yet.

4=worst in series.

The Silent Hill series as a whole doesn't thrill me all that much but the imagery is what makes them interesting. It's kind of a "mood" thing with the weird story and atmosphere. The actual game mechanics are awkward and you're usually better off running away from enemies than fighting them, much like the Resident Evil series before RE4.

But I think that once you've gotten used to the new game mechanics in RE4 it makes all of the older survival horror games feel kinda clumsy.

I can't accept that and the fact many here are bashing SH4 is insane.

The only thing that makes Sh4 annoying is when you have to go back and forth between the portals. Plus the control setup is much differently and the health meter added was an interesting choice. Turns out you do not die at all unless it's drained completely in the nightmare outside world...because once you are back in the apartment, you regain health easily. However, later on, the ghost try to sneak into your apartment..and your health won't regain anymore when inside your room.

Regardless of that, part 4 has the most depth storyline I have understood since part 2. Seriously, finish the game completely to see what I'm talking about. SH4 is the most disturbing of the series next to part 1 imho.

Which ending did you get on SH1? There's 3. (Not including the bonus one)

Also, Silent Hill 3 is the TRUE sequel to part 1. It explains the aftermath of part 1 by "18 years later". So you made a wise decision.

Don't run when you see dogs in SH4...walk...they won't notice you unless you are in front of them.

"The Room" isn't finished...wait till you see what happens as you progress...big secret...

Mega, I got one of the "good" endings, but it didn't seem all that great. All my guy did was walk away with some baby {was that even Cheryl?} and than that Lisa chick killed Kaufman. Is there as better ending? And if so how do I get it?

So 3 is the sequel to 1, that means 4 is the sequel to 2?

4 is actually based off of a small newspaper article you read in Silent Hill 2 (first apartments you visit) about a man named "Walter Sullivan". They took that tiny article and turned it into an entire game. The truth is, Silent Hill 4 was not suppose to be a Silent Hill game. The producer came by the office during programming beta days and claimed "Hey this looks like Silent Hill!" and the company didn't want to make it into Silent Hill...so the producer said "If you name it Silent Hill, it'll sell better!" so they had to re-write the entire storyline (another 7 month process and delaying the game as well) to make it match the Silent Hill storyline

Okay if you don't save the cop, Cybil. That'll effect your ending alot. The only way to save her, is a blood sample bottle you find in Kaufmann's apartment (Close to the Silent Hill Lakeside Amusement Park) Walking away with the baby is the solid ending, but to make it better, is to survive with Cybil.

The BAD ending is actually killing Cheryl and Cybil saves you.

Yes that baby was the ressurected version of Cheryl btw. (LONG story behind who Cheryl really is...play SH3 to find out more, cuz I won't spoil it..)

Another bad ending, is if you don't see Kaufmann

The final bonus ending is a joke ending, where you have a summoning stone in your inventory. This stone you must show in 3 different places..will summon a UFO...its pretty whacky lol

Didn't mean to sound "bashy" they're just not my favorite. But I picked up GoldenEye: Rogue Agent for $5 yesterday and all I can say is, wow, I'd rather play Silent Hill with my eyes closed than that piece of crap. EA should stop making Bond games immediately if not sooner.

Doesn't one of the SH games have a crazy ending with a dog in a secret control room or something? I think I saw that on X-Play a while back.
