Convince me to buy a Wii

I saw a topic similar to this (it was actually called "Convince me to buy a PS3") in the PlayStation 3 forum. I was thinking of buying a Wii but wondered what advantages it has and what features make it worth buying. Go ahead then, convince me.

Hah lol. I started that one. I can't really help ya here cause I don't have a wii though. 8)
 
Might wanna wait a few Months down the line when there are some better games out for the Wii. Right now it has Zelda and....well, Zelda. I mainly play VC games. 8)
 
For one, it's a bargain. It also has that great laid-back Nintendo feel we all know and love. The games are going to get better, right now all there really is is Zelda and Rayman. But if you can find one, then I say buy it.

That was my concern. The VC does sound simple and fun to use though.

I will convince you....

To get it later in the future. Save your money and when there are a lot more games buy them all at the same time. You'll have a blast doing that rather than playing the waiting game on future titles.
 
The Wii is a great companion console if you already have a XBOX 360. Personally the lack of titles on Wii doesn't bother me much since I don't actually spend a lot of time playing it (I don't mean that in a bad way). It's really not geared towards single player (except for Zelda). The majority of games I have on Wii are multiplayer experiences that are best played when you have friends over. Wii Play, Wii Sports, Rayman Raving Rabbids, and Wario Ware are fun games that can be played by multiple people for long periods of time (or short, if you're short on time).

Please shoot me for saying this now  :lol, but I also like the Wii for some of its non-gaming features. I think the Everybody Votes Channel is really cool. And making Miis is a lot of fun. And I even like to check the News Channel sometimes.

Like someone said, the Virtual Console also rocks! They add at least 3 new titles every Monday. Right now you can already get some of the greatest Nintendo games ever: Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, and Super Mario 64. ^_^
 
I agree with the last post. If you have a 360 then the wii is a great addition. I bought one for zelda. I also bought a gamecube when windwaker was released. But I am surprised that I have enjoyed the console as much as i have. The virtual games bring me back to the 80's and i love that. The sports game is a blast with friends. Its a good system, I just love xbox live and the 360 more. Wish that nintendo would get the online going. I hate the stupid friends list mess. I want to put a name in and thats it.
 
yea...wii is good. i got one for xmas and i played through zelda (which suprisingly was not as good as even majoras mask) and redsteel. i mainly use it for the internet channel.

i would recomend (if u can afford it) a 360 and wii. u get the best of both worlds, graphics and gameplay. plus, you dont have to spend $600 on ONE SYSTEM!

but yea, those two consoles are a great choice. it may be a BIT pricy, but u get your moneys worth, especially if your online. if you could only buy one, i recommend the wii, cause its cheaper, but 360 if u can afford it. both are great.

I think you should get a 360 over a wii because of Nintendo's inability to keep a steady stream of good titles over the last couple console generations. 8)

Yes I have, but the title of this thread isn't Convince me to buy a PS3 (that's my thread). Its about the wii. Also, go back through the string of quotes that ended with me quoting him. They are talking about the xbox 360 and the wii. 8)

because its expensive and difficult to develope for, and sony is losing money on every console they sell, the ps3 will be gone by 2008 guaranteed.

and @ homicidal cherry, that was me u quoted, and i still stand with the fact that both wii and 360 are better than 5 ps3s combined.
