When "Final Fantasy 7" was released for the "PS1" it was quoted as being "Quite Possibly the greatest game ever made" or something(At that Time).What are your thoughts now?

I don't think Final Fantasy VII is the greatest game ever made. IMO, it's not even the best Final Fantasy. But I do think it was an important game in the history of games. :)

As for what game I think IS the greatest game ever made? I don't know, that's a hard one.
 
No. FF7 is NOT the best ever. I think the 8 and 16 bit Mario games have a vote for me. Rock Band and some games that came out recently come up close.

Not necessarily. Not everyone is going to agree with FFVII being the greatest game, so other games will come up in the discussion. :) GM already brought up Mario and Rock Band, for example.
 
Well, it is kind of a general topic considering he's asking if it's the best *game* ever, not the best *ps1* game ever, heh. Anywho, I agree with the others, it's a great and classic game but it is not the best game ever in my eyes. That title belongs to a certain N64 game that rhymes with helda :lol

Fair point. I didn't really think of that, at first.
 
I've never been an FF fan either, so obviously I would say no.

It did do some pretty neat things at the time though, its hard to deny the influence it's had on the industry. Sony owes a lot of its PS1 success to that game.
