David Hasselhoff, representative of talking cars and safe beaches the world over, recently told a very funny story to MTV Multiplayer. He says he's one to "play celebrity cards," and when his daughter said she wanted a Wii, he got busy. Calling up his local game store, The Hoff was told that no systems were left, but was quickly able to charm the clerk into admitting that the store had held one system back. "Hold that game. I will be over in 30 minutes," he said, eventually showing up to the store where a very shocked employee declared, "Knight Rider! Dude!"

Obviously, the store sold him the game system, and we imagine his daughter was incredibly happy that her dad used his celebrity to get it, but wouldn't it have been faster to just call up Nintendo? We heard Iwata's hooked on a feeling.

and all this time I thought David had to flash his chest hairs! What a wacky world!

These sort of stories really piss me off. It's bad enough that celeberties get to do things like this I really hate to hear them bragging about it. Because the simple fact is if they holding it then it was for someone who now doesn't get there console because Hasselhoff. Also we don't know when he did this it might have happened awhile ago back when they were really hard to find and you had to prepay for one not that it really matters whether it was prepaid or someone had just called head to make they had one and would hold it's still wrong him to use celebrity to snake it from them.

It's not so much that they 'get to do this', but rather that some fool was charmed by a celebrity into giving something away. I know I wouldn't fall for that; a customer is a customer.

Also, the story never stated why the console was held back. They may have kept it back for stock reasons... I doubt it was a reserve, but you never know.
