Dirge of Cerberus

I think this game looks really good, already pre-ordered it. :D  What are your thoughts on it? Would be rent it, buy it, or not even think of it.....

I see no-one likes to reply to any of my topics... :'(

I've been back and forth on it. Right now I'm leaning towards getting it. I read in a magazine that Square Enix fixed everything that was wrong with the Japanese version in order to make the US release better.

Hopefully there will be some extra stuff in teh game also; I read that it was only 15 hours long...maybe some special missions or something. It will be cool to play as Vincent Valentine though........

I have played Dirge of Cerberus for about 3 hours and have realized the game isn't the gem I hoped it would be. But that doesn't mean the game isn'y good; as I have had fun playing this game every second the controller was in my hand. The game is a normal shooter with a few differences, such as the materia and limit breakers. The story is amamzing and would suggest Dirge to anyone that is a fan of FFVII....but others wouldn't have much fun with it if they had never known the story of FFVII before. Great story,not-so-good play-time. Extra missions push more fun wiht the game as playing as Cait Sith among other things. ONe playthrough of the game doesn't feel like enough, with extra things to do and memory capsules to find. That's my thoughts;just for anyone thinking of buying the game. Only 15 hours of playtime, really....

Didn't like it at E3. Turned me off from buying it.

Though I do want to buy it in order to further whatever zany ideas they have for the FF VII storyline. But.. I think I can wait on the price to drop a little. Square doesnt' need my money.

The game doesn't really further the whole FFVII story, just Vincent's. It's cool to see Vincent before he became what he is, and abut Lucrecia. The game's really for people who like Vincent, since that's what the WHOLE game is about. I actually like the gameplay to a point; gets kind of boring and VERY EASY after a while. The boss fights are qiuck if you know what your doing-and very obviuos on how to hurt the boss. I love the customization of your weapons-that's my favorite part of changing weapons in the middle of battle to support my situation more. Oh yeah, you get to go back to the manor that Vincent was sleeping in FFVII-that's all I'm going to say!

You go back to the Shin Ra mansion in Nibelheim? Awesome.

I think that any furthering of Vincent's story is a furthering of FF VII's story. Plus, Neo Midgar sounds like a cool place to be.

I'm just not that interested in the gameplay. :-)

I'll admit that the gameplay is something you have to get used to;but once you do,the game becomes alot of fun.Still haven't seen Cloud, Tifa, or Barret yet; maybe they're in the game later. It's also fun to see Caith Sith die a bunch too..

I played a demo in the store. The controls are better than at E3, but not entirely too much so. It was mildly fun, but extremely linear?

I couldn't play it long, because the controls weren't inverted and you couldn't switch in the in-game pause menu, so I didn't bother to play anymore.

How can people play with non invert..? Weird. :-)

WAIT, WAIT, WAIT there Sartori!!! You actually LIKE inverted controls? I hate inverted controls!! I love the normal up goes up and down goes down controls...but I'm just old-fashioned, I guess? :huh

I've been inverting since the dawn of time. That's just how it should be. :-) FPS play you are talking to here.

Sorry, I'm not really into controls that piss me off every few moments.....INVERTED CONTROLS SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN MADE!!!! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY :hh

Oh yeah, you can turn on inverted controls when you start the game.

I'm probably just gonna go out and rent this game someday...

O yea and i'm also a normal controls kinda guy, but i just choose that if i have a choice, if the game is invert4ed and you cant change it then i dont really mind it just takes getting used to

I've always been an inverted gamer. I've just recently begun to train myself to use normal. I'll probably just go rent this game, it sounds pretty cool.

Im normal, I tried inverted once.... boy did that go badly

Same with me. I haven't played any games for a few days now, so I'll get to the ending of Dirge sometime this weekend. NO ONE RUIN IT FOR ME!!!!!!

I want to get Dirge of Cerebus... However, I've never beaten FFVII...

I would really like to get FFVII and FFX, beat both of them, then get Dirge of Cerebus and FFX2.

That being said, Silent Hill 2 is at the top of my list since I beat SH1 last summer.

If you want the story for FFVII, but don't feel like going through all the stuff of running around and gaining experience and stuff, you can just get Advent Children and watch the Reminescence of FFVII part of the dvd......Didn't like FFX-2! >:(
