I downloaded Dreamkiller since it's a Steam free weekend for it.

My impressions of the game thus far are that it is a first person shooter with an interesting backstory:

The main character, Alice Drake, dives into people's heads, into their dreams, to help them fight phobias and personal demons. The graphics are well executed and surreal, crisp and bright (or dark, depending on the nightmare).

The actual play control leaves something to be desired. I used three different weapons in the game within the first two stages. The main character's primary weapon is a flame attack that pours out of her hands. Alice can also telekenetically pop bad dream monsters as a secondary attack. The minigun will quickly overheat and shut down, leaving her momentarily defenseless while nightmare spiders or office workers surround her. The secondary grenade attack is quite powerful though. The shotgun-style weapon has a weak secondary ice bolt attack and far too slow of a reload time. Only being able to fire once per second is not great when king-crab-sized spiders are magically appearing around you.

There is even a deeper level of nightmare where you have to warp into a deeper dreamstate to fight certain enemies. This can be frustrating as those enemies can harm you even in the normal dream and tend to be hard to see in the foggy deeper dream state.

The game is worth checking out for the free weekend. I found the graphics fairly impressive, the play control lacking.

I'd rate it a 3 out of 5.

Very nicely done Grind :)

The biggest issue I have with the game, my hand started to hurt because of too many enemies coming at me at one time :lol

I made it to level 3, which was pretty intense. The new weapon they provide in level 3 is very weak in my honest opinion. I do love the shotgun!

Yes, I concur to the original storyline by far :)
