I'm inclined to say independent(and I do use independent sources more often). They're more thorough, and quite obtain little tricks that some strategy guides don't have, and they're free.

Peace.

Well, depends. If by Independent you mean guides that are sold in stores, then no. Mostly because the people who write those guides don't have either the full game or are going by a game that is very early. This usually means that the guides are either incomplete or don't follow the game properly.

Now if you meant independent such as GameFaqs, then yes, I would prefer those. They're usually written by people who have played the full retail game and know it inside and out.

Official guides are actually done at the same time the game is being made and are proofed by both the game publisher and the developer. So it's usually more accurate.

I tend to find guides people who've played the game thoroughly write up, but nly because it's very rare i grab a game mag. But, if I have one i do use it. The only differences in a mag, you know the info is accurate. Anyone can say how to get something done, but it's a matter of how well they explain, and if it's honest.

Well I use the indie stuff like from gamefaqs alot more than the official guides since you have to pay for the official stuff and the gamefaqs stuff is usualy pretty accurate.

I like Indies more, they are usually very detailed and tell you everything.
