God of War 2 for the PS2!

The sequel to what some can argue as the greatest game for the PS2 is expected first quarter 2007! Just got my Game Informer today and it was on the cover with about 6 pages inside about it. The story is as follows...

Even though the game begins with Kratos imbued with full powers worthy of a god, the glory doesn't last long. Other gods, affronted by the fact that a mere mortal has joined their ranks, begin to conspire against their new brother. As a result of this power struggle, events are set in motion that essentially strip Kratos of his new throne. Once again betrayed by the conniving of the gods, Kratos makes it his bloody mission to go over their heads and tackle the problem by rooting out those who can command even Zeus: the three Sisters of Fate - the gods' gods.

GameStop is already taking pre-orders even though GoW2 won't be out until at least February 2007.

God of War rocks hardcore, so the sequel should be even more amazing!!! :D
 
God of War ripped a lot of stuff from other games, especially with the combat and platforming. In fact, I thought it was a cheap Ninja Gaiden wannabe the first time I played it. But then I got farther into the game and I was really impressed by how they combined the combat with the Greek elements. I really loved fighting the hydra, the minotaurs, Medusa, etc. And the part in the desert with the Sirens...man that was cool.

It gets to a point where you have to remember that everything has already been done, so it's a matter of how well it's put together, and God of War was a very polished game.
