Like a syndicated weekly dance program from the decade it touts so highly, Activision's Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s is Solid Gold. Actually, the publisher today just announced that the game has "gone gold," saying development on the PlayStation 2 exclusive has finished and it should be on shelves July 24.

The publisher also released the last batch of the game's 30 songs, and as expected, Activision has secured the rights to use the original recordings of some popular songs by the original artists. The game's full setlist is reproduced below.

Guitar Hero Encore Rocks the 80s is rated T for Teen and will be the last game in the series from original developers Harmonix. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater developer Neversoft is taking over the franchise beginning with Guitar Hero III, while Harmonix is preparing rival rhythm game Rock Band. Both titles are set for release later this year for multiple platforms.

I agree. Im not into the Old School Stuff. They should have made a modern rock one instead

If you wanted modern, why did you think about Rock the 80's in the first place?

I love old school stuff. That's not my complaint. This music is just garbage to me except for maybe two songs.

guitar hero coheed edition ftw

:sick Even worse.

But hey this is how I feel. Like I said, you guys enjoy.

Im not a big Coheed fan. I do respect their musical prowess since they are actually good at their instruments unlike other bands these days. I just don't like the music they create.

well thats a very respectful way to decline coheed. most people are like "HIS VOICE ISNT GENERIC!? THEN NO I DONT WANNA LISTEN TO IT!"

at least u know what coheeds all about ;)

I can tolerate claudio since I do listen to Rush from time to time. So Ive grown to the Geddy Lee vocals.

i think geddy lee is one of the most talented vocalists in history, and i beleive claudio is following right in his footsteps. claudios vocal range is very impressive, he can not only since very high, but also very low. as seen in the songs "the final cut" and "fuel for the feeding end"

hey Hines what are your favorite c&c songs? i just started getting into them...
