WE LOVE YOU VALVE!! WOOT!!
Has one of E3's many surprises just been spoiled by none other than the event promoters themselves? As you can see on the official E3 website (via Ripten), existence of Episode 3 is a revelation -- we've all known the episodes were a planned trilogy, which Valve president Gabe Newell has previously said amounts to what would have been Half-Life 3. But the surprise here is seeing Episode 3 showing so soon, considering Valve's notoriously slow release schedule. Of course, just because it's being highlighted at an event doesn't mean it's anywhere near release, as we've annoyingly learned time and time again.
Curiously, the listing shows Episode 3 for the PC and Xbox 360, but not for the PlayStation 3. This doesn't necessarily mean Episode 3 won't ever show up on Sony's platform (this could just refer to what platforms it'll appear on at E3). But considering Newell's past, ahem, less than glowing remarks about the PS3, it wouldn't be totally shocking if Episode 3 became a Microsoft exclusive.
