I just saw the movie "300"

So my best friend's mom won tickets for the grand opening of 300 in Michigan 3 days before anyone else and she gave the tickets to us. Well, all I can say, Is we're still both in shock. We didn't watch the movie. We whitnessed it. It was so beyond anything I could have ever thought. My god, this is the best movie I have ever seen in my life. We're getting tickets again for Midnight the night before it hits theaters. I can't wait for this on DVD.

Cool, whenever I mention to my friends how good this movie looks, they just reply "eh, looks ok".

I need new friends. :-\

Man, this is the best movie I have ever seen. Honestly, we didn't even listen to music on the way home cause all I wanted to hear were the war cries. Haha. :lol

lol same here!!!!! :lol

I have been looking forward to this film for so long now. More than i have ever looked forward to any other film or even game. Just hope its as good as the trailer makes it out to be.

Oh it is. There's no favorite part cause the whole movie kicks *ahem*...Like in the trailer I keep thinking....wow...10 seconds later was really sweet...etc. I can't wait to see it at midnight tonight again! :D

Yes, when you enter a movie already thinking it's gonna be bad, like you did, it definately will not live up to the hype.

No, I kept a pretty open mind about it. The style of the film really, really, bugged me. Everything looked fake and shiny. That is my biggest complaint, which was not one of the reasons why I thought it would be bad.

I saw it last night as well. My impressions are more or less the same as everyone else's, there were some hella sweet scenes in this movie that were over-the-top in the best way possible. However, I didn't like all the non-action oriented story that was thrown in there. The whole story with his wife was ridiculous, and the whole "political" angle was just painful to watch. I also found it fairly racist, lol, and normally I don't care about that kind of stuff, but literally all the real life characters who, in the movie were protrayed as "evil," were all black. They also never used Nine Inch Nails in the movie like they did in the previews, which was a bummer.

I was actually a little dissapointed by 300. It was good, but not great, and I was expecting greatness. I'd still advise seeing it once, but I dunno, in several core ways it could have been better.

I, too, thought it was racist to a point, but then again wasn't racism strong back in those times anyways?

Besides that, I completely loved the movie and want to watch it again. One of my all time favorites. The dialogue didn't exactly impress but it was all about the visuals anyways, and man did it deliver in that department.

The dialog wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't the films weakest point.

And about racism being strong then. Even if they were racist back then, there is no reason for the filmmakers to have portrayed the Persians so negatively.
