G'Day!
Sometimes, ideas for a post come from the strangest sources.I was watching an episode of "Reba" earlier this morning.I've seen this one before.
It's the episode in which they find out that Van doesn't believe in God.After he told Reba, this look of shock came over her face. What her reaction means to me is that she can't believe that some people do not believe in God.I know that this example derives from a sitcom, but it's been my experience that this same reaction takes place in the real world as well.
Personally,I believe in God,but if I come across someone who doesn't,I don't go into shock. How do I know what kind of life one person has had up until I meet them?If someone grows up being constantly abused physically/mentally with seemingly no help from God after repeated prayers,I can understand why this poor soul might be a little hesitant to trust God, if not lose complete faith and belief entirely.
There are also lots of people who have good lives that don't believe in God.Perhaps because they see the world as nothing but a huge ball of violence, poverty, brutal, unspeakable malevolent acts on others. This is the Internet, you know certain sites back up what I'm saying in this respect.I can't imagine why anyone would believe in a supposed God that would let this evil continue within our lives, but that's where my faith comes in.It's about time that we stop blaming God for every little bad thing that occurs on this earth and start taking a little responsibility for our CHOICES.
He gave us free will.Would you rather be living life as a prisoner being told when to eat, when to sleep, having no power to stop it?Sadly, that does occur in some places on the earth outside prisons, but it's not like we are powerless(In this respect, not prisons)to stop it.The reason that we feel powerless or have become a world of danger in so many countries is because we are missing the "Big Picture".
I've said this before.Earth is OUR home, not Australia's,not America's,not Africa's,not Canada's.With all this crap going on in the world,it's easy to not believe in God because He allows this evil to carry on.That is crap.Like I said before,we have CHOICES.Let's accept a little responsibility for a change.Having faith in God can be very difficult at times.Admittedly,I've questioned God's ways on certain things in life, but that is where my faith and it's strength kick in.
Although I'm not shocked to meet people who don't believe,I am however,a little hurt to see someone struggling with life regardless of their CHOSEN beliefs or lack there of.For the record,I do not think I'm "Holier Than Thou",just someone who cares, that's all.Should a moderator choose to give this post the axe,I can't stop him or her,but at least I'll know that one person got this message.
God bless,
Kaz
