Ingame Advertisement

What do you, as a gamer, think about in-game advertisement ?

I'm doing a research for school about gamers' opinion about ingame advertisement.
For this research I made a survey. I would really appreciate it if you'll take the time to fill out a survey.

I would say it's regrettable, but inevitable. As long as it's not abused, I'm fine with it. But if I have to drink coca-cola in order to regain health in a game, I probably won't play it for long.

I agree with stealth. But if it is part of the scenery of the game, like a billboard in a city or something along those lines, I don't see a big deal. I don't know how well that kind of thing would pay, but I bet someone could make a few bucks out of it.

I like in game advertising when it is done well. I like looking for it and stuff. lol But maybe I am weird.... ::D

I ain't complaining. Companies pay to get in, so it could save games from rising in price any more.

Yeah, that's what I think, too.

It kinda fits into some games though. Like post-apocalyptic settings and such. Everything's war-torn and you see a battered Pepsi sign or a destroyed BP gas station. I don't mind it at all then. It kind of adds to the experience.

That's true.

Sort of on topic, there's this one game from the NES days called Yo NOID! It was one of the pizza company's mascots (I think Domino's) in a platformer. I loved that game so much. XD! I think I may even own it.... :lol

You know, it kind of gets annoying to me. My motto is, if you're seeing advertisements, you should be getting something for free. If I pay for a video game I expect it to be devoid of all advertisements.

Except for cameo advertisements... as long as they aren't literally trying to get customers from it or something, I guess.

They could always invent brands or products if they needed to give that aesthetic feel.

It just wouldn't feel as real to me. Although Bioshock did a very good job in that respect.
