Que Pasa?

I think the perfect job for any gamer would have to be a "Game Tester".But just sitting in a office and playing these games all day seems too good to be true. It's sounds like a pretty simple job.

Something tells me that there is a lot more to testing games than simply sittin' down and playing them all day.Surely, there must be more to it than that.I was wondering if any of you know any other parts of the job.

God Bless.

Only thing that sucks about being a game tester, you have to play the same game over and over again for a long period of time. To find all the errors and flaws. Tedious, I'd say.

At my last job, I heard one of the former employees from years ago works for Nintendo now in Washington. He got sick of playing Mario Kart on Wii. He had to spend literally 5 weeks solid on it.

I would never want that job. Video games are supposed to be fun, not work! I think if I had that job I'd end up hating video games entirely.

The 2 problems I see with job is playing the same game several time help them get glitches out is going to take the fun out of gaming eventauly for you. The other thing is your going to be asigned what games to play which means your going eventualy endup spending alot of time playing games your not like for me 2 examples would be a Madden game or pretty much any raceing game.

Keep in mind play testers spend a lot of their time playing early and incomplete versions of the game, not the full-fledged polished versions we get once we buy it. Also, it involves a lot of paperwork. Game designers and programmers don't just want to know about things that go wrong, they need to know about everything that goes right as well. And, they need to know under what circumstances things go right, as opposed to the circumstances when things go wrong. Its not as though play testers just sit down and play a game until it glitches, they have to document nearly everything they do in the game, even if it works.

Creepindeth is a play tester I believe, so if he posts in here he can shed some light on the whole thing, and either confirm or deny what I've just said.
