This old friend of mine at the chess club is around the same age as me(35)Like myself,he has a drinking problem.I haven't had a drink in years but that doesn't mean that I'm home free. The second that you adopt that attitude, your heading for relapse.
Only a few days ago, after over 2 years of sobriety he relapsed.I've got to be honest, but seeing as how I am a recovering alcoholic it broke my heart to hear that.My problem is,I want to help him,but for the life of me I can't think of any way to do it without his compliance.I can't physically keep him from drinking or threaten to kick his ass if he does it again,he's a black belt.He would wipe the floor with me.
I'm just kind of wondering if maybe any of you could offer some advice that might help me,help him.
Godspeed.
