Just pre-ordered Gran Turismo4!

Yes it does. I'm also glad for the used vehicle dealer and the numerous tracks. Hopefully, as you mentioned, the 100 doesn't include the mirrored tracks, or night tracks.

I still don't think the "punishment" will be something I like at all. It wasn't really cheating when you bounced off the walls of the track and the opponents. Usually, it just led to a spin-out and it DRASTICALLY slowed down your car. I think damage would've been much easier to implement.

I love night tracks.........Just not the 2 in GT3 :lol... SS5 and SS11 will be back, unfortunately....I wish that each race/track has random weather and random time, ie, day/night. If they can do this that would virtually eliminate any repetitiveness. Yea, I'm being optimistic about the "punishing" and I truly do believe it will be a cool feature. But than again, I never bounce off cars or walls so it won't really affect me at all. And that way, when it does happpen, it will be like, "whoa wtf was that?" hehe ;)

Every racing game I own I crash in. Especially NASCAR Thunder 2004. Let's just say I usually go around clockwise while everyone else goes counter :D

And Burnout 3 requires crashing, so that's alright with me.

Hey, just cause theres no damage in GT doesnt mean you cant have awesome crashes! In GT3 you can make other cars fly like 30 ft in the air. In the F-1 races, if you do Laguna Seca and hit the cars head on when they come up the hill before the corkscrew, they will fly backwards over the hill like 30 ft. It's pretty fun. But yea, nothing beats going the opposite direction in Nasacar games. But maybe GT isnt for you if all you like to do is crash, lol. GT is geared more towards driving and not crashing.

I have GT3 and think it's a great game. Since they're making "the most realistic racing sim" however, they should have damage. The physics for hitting cars and stuff in GT3 wasn't "the most realistic" either.

Lol, it's kinda funny how GT is not even really realistic at all. Like, the only realistic thing is the cars and tuning them. I just wish they would have horsepower limitations on races so you cant use a 1000hp car in a race with like 400hp cars. That would make it alot more realistic and challenging. At least in GT4 you can run out of gas {or so I heard}, that will also help bring realism to racing. I agree with you on the damge though, it's like why do this punish thing when having damage would be the ultimate punishment, if you crash. I think people wouldn't bounce off walls if they knew they could lose a tranny or a tire lol.

When they first started making GT4, didn't they make a deal with car makers to not have damage? Not sure about this, but when GT4 was first in development, I believe that they could only use most of the cars if they agreed not to have damage to them. I know that games are coming out now with damage, but maybe Polyphony had GT4 mostly complete when car makers decided to let companies use damage to their cars. And, it would have probably taken longer time to 're-do' every car to include damage. But, I am like you guys, damage would have been cool! Maybe we will see it in GT5... :woot

I don't know why the car companies would want that though. Who really cares that the car can be damaged? It happens in real life...

I think it was only because of the time it would take to animate damage for every vehicle. But that could be true too about the car companies, I just have never heard about that.
