Hello Fellow members,
Before I start I know this is old news,and I also know that this is a gaming forum,but it's nice to see a "General Discussion" space.
Late last night I happened to catch the last few minutes of a boxing discussion tv show.People called in expressing their views on Mike Tyson and his general life all together.
Seeing as how Mike Tyson is my favorite boxer I decided to stay up and watch the show when it came on again a few hours later(Not uncommon for late night tv).
I'm sitting here eating "Munchos"(Which I believe is a truly underrated snack in my opinion).And low and behold a caller came on the speaker phone talking in depth about Tyson's filthy habit which is smoking.She saw him on tv with a cigarette in his mouth on his way to somewhere via a green Lexus.
She went on and on about how bad of an example he's setting for younger boxers and children in general.At any rate,she put her 2 cents in and that was that.Next another caller comes in.She talked about the infamous Ear-Biting Incident" with respect to the Holyfield match.I have to admit it was unexpected,but contrary to popular belief,Holyfield being a very religious man,was the first one to forgive Mike for his little stunt.An important point which the boxing commission ignored accidentally on purpose.
At any rate the show went on and ended.What?!! There wasn't any discussion with respect to his boxing and what he did for the sport.Look guys,I don't know what motivated him to bite Holyfield's ear off,maybe he saw "The Godfather III" too many times,who knows.With respect to the rape case,I don't believe he violated her in that brutal fashion.When you're a celebrity you immediately become very vulnerable.C'mon,she shows up at his room in the middle of the night with her pyjamas on,she has her own agenda.
In closing I just wanted to say that I'm sticking up for the guy.That stupid tv show didn't once mention what he did for Boxing.Everyone in the world is messed up in their own way,they just don't want anyone else to know.He definitely has his mental issues,because of one man man Mike went from a purse snatcher to a truly devastating fighter.When that man who took him in Customato or whatever( I can't remember how to spell his name) fed him and cared for him died,it was a truly devastating blow to Tyson.Mike Tyson even stated on live television that "When that man dies,I don't know what I will do.
When that man died,that's when Mike started to go slowly psychotic,because the man that was like a father to him when nobody else cared.I'm sure Tyson was crippled mentally when this man died.Everyone in the world makes mistakes,especially when the only man on the planet that cared for him was gone.Stop focusing on his bad stuff and take into consideration how awesome of a fighter he was and what he did for the sport.You can't tell me you weren't interested when you heard that there was a new Mike Tyson fight coming up.Look at heavyweight boxing these days,I'm not nearly excited as I used to be when he was boxing.
