Today I picked up my copy of the Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap. Naturally, I wanted to play it right away.
So I just spent the last 2 hours playing and I'm impressed.
The graphics are probably some of the best I've ever seen in a Gameboy Advance game, and they look especially vivid being played on the DS.
The music is also awesome. They kept a lot of the classic Zelda stuff in there. When you go into shops and stuff, it has the shop music from OoT. And when you're in the Overworld, it has the classic LoZ theme from Link to the Past. In the beginning, they have Zelda's Lullaby playing in the background.
The voice work is minimal, as usual. Just grunts and groans. Some of it is lifted directly from Wind Waker; ie when you talk to the King of Hyrule, he sounds exactly like the King of Red Lions.
Now for the most important aspect: the gameplay. And all I have to say on that is that Minish Cap is classic Zelda. The puzzles and dungeons are just what you would expect from a Zelda game. I did manage to get through the first dungeon pretty quickly and easily, but it's the dungeon that I played at E3, so I knew what to do.
Anyway, if you like 2D Zelda, I would definitely recommend picking up Minish Cap. If anyone has any questions, I will try to answer them.
