Sadly, it looks just like Coral Pink...but *shrugs* I guess it's shinier?

It's not new, it was the same color that was packaged with Nintendogs a while back, except that one had a pawprint and stuff on it.

Looks like Nintendo is trying to use a new color to get DS sales to pick up. If this doesn't work, expect a new DS model to boost sales.
A purple DS would be awesome!
Boost sales? It's still sitting in 1st place in monthly sales.

Wow how stereotypical apparently to capitalize on the new 38% of gamers are now females they release the Pink color in two varieties, yay for the masses of females who like pink and no other colorm yay Nintendo for another excellent decision when you should be thinking of releasing additional colors for the Wii and WIi Remotes!!!

They've stated they're going to focus on new Wii colors when the demand isn't exceeding the supply, which might happen with their projected 39% production increase this year.

At least research before saying they're not doing something. :/

But based on previous trends it would seem that Demand for Wii is going to stay exceeding supply for the next 2 years, reports assumed it was going to falter this year but that has proved to be unlikely and with the premise of new things coming and surprises it seems likely to stay on the theory of continual demand always exceeding supply. Thus color change as a result of dropped demand in such an immediately time seems unlikely.

Like I've said, though, increased production.

Its sales dropped 300,000 units last month, from 700,000 in March, to 400,000 in April.
Really? OK, then.

Yes, like I've said increased production will not decrease demand, I could only imagine demand would increase thus 2 years or more before Wii colors come.

It won't decrease demand, it will meet/surpass it, that's basic business knowledge.

Based on the Wii's histroy of appeal, it will probably break all common knowledge go against business tradition and continue to be sold out at retailers for the rest of its lifetime.

So past trends never die down, huh? The PS3 was sold out as well for the first several weeks after launch, but guess what? Then it wasn't. Whoa! Same story with the DS and PSP. And the Gamecube had a last gen lead early on and look what happened there. So clearly, as I hope you've learned, past trends are the perfect indication of what's to come. It will always stay the same.
