Okay, so I picked up this game earlier this year, and I HATED IT!!! So I took it back to GameCrazy for credit. A few weeks later (now) I decided to go on Youtube to see what all of the fuss was about the ending. I saw it, and it was amazing!!! This is the kind of melodramatic love story crying crap that Ive always been waiting for! No, really, I love this stuff. So now I want to pick up the game again, but now the ending's all spoiled! So in other words, I wish it took less then spoiling the ending to convince me to try this game again. Dang. Can anyone tell me about a game that has THIS level of melodrama? PLEASE!!! THIS ISNT A JOKE!!

The Tales series is really phenominal....at least in my opinion. I'd go with that or if you have a Cube, Tales of Symphonia.

Symphonia's ending wasn't as spectular as Abyss' was, though, IMO. Abyss had a somewhat deeper storyline. The ending of Abyss will always leave you wondering, whereas Symphonia's was really straightforward.

I haven't tried any of the Tales series. I honestly just can't seem to get myself into Japanese RPG's (while on the other hand, western ones are my favorite genre). I've tried a couple Final Fantasy games, and they just aren't that good. Idk, maybe the Tales series will be different. Its worth a try at least...

Grandia III might be your thing... the battle system is probably the best of any RPG i've played.... but the story... oh god i could not keep playing... its all like "all you have to do is love". if you like that sorta stuff this might possibly be the best game ever for you

The ending was really straightforward, but the story was great, in my opinion. I loved the twists and turns it threw at me. Alot really caught me off guard.

Is it just me. Or do gamemakers seem to be holding back some of their best material for later in the game. Including during and after the credits!

Thats just basicially for using slow paced beginnings. The game rewards people who can play throughtout the whole game patiently. :) (no offense Boom$ickle. :))

The Tales games are real-time rather than turn-based, so if you like western rpgs (which are typically real-time as well) you might enjoy the Tales series more than Final Fantasy.

Off topic, but is there a reason half of the posts are edited, starting with my second one? I didn't post any spoilers or inappropriate content that I am aware of so I'm a little confused as to why it was edited.

I had to edit the title of the topic because it contained a bleeped out swearword, which meant having to change the title in every post. Thank the topic starter for that one. ;)

Also, meh, who cares about the FFX ending? The game itself is phenominal. The best RPG on the PS2. Read a book if you want a gripping ending, it's a video game.

lol... And I thought he'd gotten away with it.

Ok, that makes sense. I thought that might be what happened but I wanted to make sure.

Anyway, to the original poster I would actually say that you should play FFX anyway. I was spoiled to the ending when I played it but I still enjoyed it. FFX is actually my favorite Final Fantasy. I love the sphere grid, the battle system, Blitzball, the characters, everything.

Twenty hours though? nCan anyone tell me the good points to this game besides repetitive battles and level grinding?

baten kaitos origins, was really sad at the end. XD

remember is FINAL FANTASY something good happens in any story,

It finally hit me today. I may never finish FFX. I just end up forcing myself to play this game. It it because I think it's bad?? No way!! The game is fun!! The story is great!! I just have no desire to play it right now...

If u want a really good love story for a game why not pick up FF8 it may be old but it takes the love that is in the sidestory of all the other FFs and makes it the main part of the story

Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerebus, Xenosaga I, II, & III are all worth a try if you're talking PS2 specific...

Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and IX along with Final Fantasy Origins (I & II), Chronicles (IV and Chrono Trigger), and Anthology (V & VI) are all on the original Playstation format as well.

Final Fantasy X-2 is a continuation of FFX... Maybe you'd like that one better since it's the same story with different gameplay. I preferred the gameplay in FFX greatly to FFX-2, but you may think just the opposite.
