Quick Q and A

Nope, any game made by Nintendo themselves is free as far as I know. As for third party companies, that's a total mystery to me

Actually I answered this question in the free downloads topic. One of the main heads in Nintendo denied that downloads were going to be free. They still dont know if they are going to charge or give them free.

Oh, well, in that case, keep me posted. :D

Although really, I don't see how they could provide that much content for free. I mean, they can't just give them away, can they?

They could if they wanted, but this is Nintendo and they like to make profits. I do think the will give away some older games when you purchase new ones. I think that's one of the plans.

That seems about right... Mario Rev coming with SMB3. That would be addiction all over again :lol

I've got another question then, has Nintendo finalized a price for this system yet?

I gotta say, if it's under $200, it might be worth having just for all the old school games. It would effectively allow me to be 7 years old again, for an hour or two every night. :lol

That would be cool if it sparked some kind of 2d gaming revolution. I always thought sidescrolling games still had tons of potential (Contra on the PS2 for example) but I guess there wasn't enough people out there that also thought so.

No not yet. Maybe when E3 rolls around possibly.

Maybe it'll be a monthly fee type thing, say, for example, you pay $10 a month and download what you want, or you pay a certain amount and can download a preset amount of games. All rather inexpensive but enough money to keep things goin' on their end.

Here is how I hope it will work...

1.They will be completely free!!!

or

2.every time you buy a Nintendo product(such as a revolution console,or game)you will be given a pin number that you can use at Nintendo.com that will give you points which can then be used to purchase any virtual game that you want.

that way you would not be stuck with a classic game you do not want when you buy a new game that you do want.

But I don't want to have to buy $60 new games just to get old ones. :lol

I'd rather you just buy older games individually via credit card or some type of "gift card" gimmick, where you buy a card from a video game retailer and put money on that and then use a pin number deal to buy the games or whatever.

Which raises another question, how are they planning on letting people download older games?

I agree. We should be able to download the second our Revolutions are hooked up.

If you want to know specifically how they are going to do it then you won't get an answer. It's still something they are trying to finalize. Unfortunately it most likely won't be free.
