Sorry this is a day late, but he passed away yesterday from a long struggle with Cancer.
 
Darn......darn.... no way >_> this is a HUGE loss, he was my favorite author, his books were fantastic, my favorite ones are State of Fear, Pray and obviously Jurassic park.... his theme of "humans shouldn't mess with nature or play god" is what drove me into its books..

Yeah, I gotta say this actually makes me sad. Micheal Crichton was always a guilty pleasure of mine, because his books were so popular (and the movies based off of them so terrible) I always felt like I shouldn't like his work. Still though, he was easily my favorite contemporary author, and its too bad I can't look forward to anything new from him.
 
Yeah, I too have to say that I really enjoyed reading his work. Jurassic Park was brilliant, even though the movie was terrible.
