Should I Buy A Used "PS2" That EB Games Is Selling For $59.00?

EB Games where I live is selling used "PS2's" for $59 give or take.
The problem I'm having with it is that they're the older larger models.If they were the sleek ones,I'd buy one.I'm a little worried with the older versions due to the problems that occurred with them in the past.

I understand that I can pay to extend the warranty,but I just don't want the hassle.Any advice?

I have an older/larger PS2 that has been going for years.

Do you have PS2 or Playstation games that you want to play?

Could you use an extra DVD player?

If the answer to either is yes, get it.
 
I have an older PS2 model, and it still works perfectly. My cousin has the slim model, and it already doesn't work well for him.
 
Yea my older one is still going strong after 4+ years. Granted, I did take it apart one time to clean the lens {really easy to do}.
 
my ps2 (old style) held up to years of abuse (at one point it was on for 4 days STRAIGHT and i had left it on overnight many times in the 24hr endurance races on GT4.

IIRC, the slim models had more problems with them than the big ones did...
 
My PS2 is one of the older big models. I got it the month that Final Fantasy X hit the shelves. That was the game that made me get a PS2.
 
I have a slim. Almost took a tumble off a shelf (power cord saved it from impact) and still works.
 
You buy it, if it doesn't work. You send it my way. I've fixed so many PS2's that I could build a brick wall with them!

Make sure your car is nearby if you buy a "PS3",they're heavy as hell.

P.S. I don't think that EA thought the boxing commentator's words through very well in "Fight Night Round 3".
On several occasions when you are about to knock your opponent down,he says:"Those of you Boxing fans that love knockouts,stick around."

What the hell kind of Boxing fan doesn't like knockouts?

Well i was actually thinking that if they fix the 360 i would get one of those since they equal better games

and then i would get live which i totally need.

I gotta say,I really didn't care much for the first 2.Not sure why,I just wasn't down with the gameplay.
