After finally getting around to it. I have just finished Silent Hill Origins tonight.
My personal feedback, is this game is quite disturbing in monsters and visuals. Up there with SH1 and 4 I would have to say. It's tougher, but the gameplay is exactly like Silent Hill 1/2.
Storyline is very intriguing to me, I really couldn't put it down once I started playing it. and does everything I hoped for. Which was "How it all began".
I don't know why it took me so long to finish this game, but I'm pretty happy now that I did.
The nightmare has ended for me...and I am awake....
The ending theme song is pretty soothing and sad at the same time.
The combat system in this one, needs work however, the targeting gets confused if two or more enemies are on the same screen. So my best advice, is try to keep combat at a 1 to 1 ratio. I love the fact you can use any type of object as a melee weapon, such as a portable TV, a tool box, a coat hanger, screwdriver, kitchen knife...yet these weapons break easily sadly.
Firearms however, alot of variety this time around. A revolver, a pistol, a hunting rifle, a shotgun, an assault rifle, and a police pistol. Assault Rifle holds 18 rounds and brings down the tougher enemies.
Speaking of enemies, this game has the LARGEST monsters ever seen in a Silent Hill game. It really freaks me out when I see one.
Only 2 sections of the original Silent Hill are in this game...and I really wish I could have seen more familiar places, such as in, Silent Hill 2 or 3. These sections are at the start and near the end. However, that's why originality favors in this particular title.
The boss fights are pretty epic, but nothing as insanely hard as the final boss in SH4 luckily.
Overall, I was very pleased with this game. Scared the poop outta me, which is what I wanted LOL. Kudos Konami, I can't wait for Silent Hill: Home Coming now
