So they say, your PS3 can't play PS2 games? Well there's always PS1.

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
After receiving my new PS3, I was a bit skeptical about the entire backwards compatibility issues. Some PS3 boxes say, "Can play some PlayStation format games".

Now the 40GB I've heard some issues with games like Crash Bandicoot for example if you have the actual disc. Yet, I have the 160GB model. I tested Silent Hill, Mega Man X4, and Soul Blade. Needless to say, the PS3 accepted them and played without any hassle or problems at all.

I do remember, when Aleeock told me, that hers could play all the Final Fantasy PS1 games with no problems. Which, you have to admit, is some serious respect.

I know Hylian7 played Final Fantasy Tactics with no problems.

I know to all you PS2 lovers out there, it's a shame. Yet I thank God, Sony didn't ignore PS1 lovers.

When I had my 120gb PS3 I tried some PS1 games and they played alright. I remember there was something a little off, but I can't recall what.

I think I remember when you told us that, what did it do exactly?

I don't remember exactly, but it was something graphical, like slowdown or stutter. I seriously only had it in for 10-15 minutes at most.
