The PS1 a rpg heaven.

Old school. Forever.
Yes its true it was a lovely system with a rich array of rpgs for people to pick from. With that said heres another favorites thread.

Mine has got to be Star Ocean Second Story. It had an intreguing character base...2 storylines from 2 viewpoints. The ability to forge your own team yes you could leave potential teamates behind and go without them which I actually regretted doing the first time playing...poor kid.. he never saw the energy meteor coming. It also had a time active and partially ai controlled battle system which I found to sate my taste quite well.

Theres my 10 cents

Im not really an RPG guy but Ill be the first to mention these because Im sure they'll be the most popular.

FFVII and Xenogears

FFVII actually made me look at RPG's as actual good games. I was never into them but FF turned that around. Xenogears had a cool battle system that I though was great. I loved actually being able to do combos rather than just pressing a button and waiting for your character to perform some type of attack. Not to mention these were some of the prettiest looking games the PS1 had to offer.

I really liked "Vanguard Bandits",and the "Lunar" games...however,both of those games can be played in their origanal glory on the Turbo grafx,Sega CD respectively :)

I'll add my personal favorite RPG. Legend of Dragoon.

The storyline is great. The personalities of the characters are great. And I like the fact that you can perform more complicated attacks than just pick an enemy and hit the X button.

I can't say much about the FF games on the PS1. One day I'll buy them and finally play them..

^^^ My first RPG was Legend of Dragoon, It got me into RPG's. Great game but opinions may vary. i liked FF7, I also like FF8 but never got the chance to finish it (stupid hollywood videos crushed my dream of beating it by not telling me they did not have the third disc.)
