So, what's your take on the new Nintendo Revolution controller?

I dont know much about this site but it says that Nintendo will reveal its controller on Sept. 16th, 2005. I guess we dont have to wait to long.

I'm sorry to  break the news, but Spong is one of the most unreliable sources that I know of.... Example http://news.spong.com/detail/news.asp?prid=8413
However I am not sure if the Revolution story is false or not, but I can not trust Spong.

Yeah Ive never heard of them, but I just thought I would post this. Just in case it was true.

DOH... sorry about that. That article is actually true. Well I guess you can completely ignore my first post, but I still don't trust Spong.

Right now im extremely skeptical about it. I dont see how it can make playing games better. I will have to hold out on my judgement until I actually play a game with it.

That has less buttons than an SNES controller.  And I thought this was a game console, not a TV tuner...

Though, the movie makes it look like it could actually be somewhat decent.

you beat me to it Creein, I saw the article today on IGN at school but I planned on posting it when I got home. I think its sorta weird, and would need some getting used to.

I absolutely agree with BV. I actually checked my calendar to make sure this wasn't an April Fool's joke. After confiming it isn't Apirl 1st, I proceded to laugh about how horribly screwed Nintendo is.

If I wanted to hold a tv remote I would sit in front of the tv all day, not play video games.

I hope that Hori is all over a Revolution controller....

Maybe an Snes style... or something like that.

OR maybe we can get a converter / adaptor to use cube controllers on that.

REally this is crazy..... That does not even look good to play on.... UNLESS they have a brilliant idea for the future we don't see.... IE add-on adaptors..etc.

Nintendo is a smart company... something is up that I cannot see... and I don't understand this move.

First of all, although it isnt conventional, Im going to withhold my judgment until I actually play an actual full game with it. Just because it LOOKS like a remote control does not mean it is one. Not only that but yes they will have special adapters that can turn this into a normal looking controller. I believe cube controllers can be plugged into the REVO so you can use those instead. We still have a year left till this comes out. So even though it doesnt look like much I think there are some great possibilities in it.

I agree about have so few buttons, but do we really need more than one D-pad and one analog stick?

It will make some games, in particular FPS games, very hard to play. Ever play Perfect Dark for the N64? Absolutely archaic opposed to an Xbox, PS2, or Gamecube controller.
