This upsets me.....

Hey,
So I'm browsing the PS2 section and I come across this thread about Microsoft. Than what do ya know, a bunch of PS2 fanboys saying absolutely ludacris statements about Xbox 2. They were laughing at how there won't even be a next race for Xbox. Grrrr, it just ticks me off man. I wanna make a thread of how crappy PS2 quality is but I don't want to stoop to their level. Now I know I said I like PS2 but for gods sake the thing does not compare to the Xbox, the xbox is in its own class {superior}. So I suggest all you xbox loyalists take a trip to the PS2 section and check out these blasemphous comments, it's pure lunacy I tell ya'.

I looked at the article.......seems to me to be completely understandable...........but, at least it is PS2 fanboys that are arguing with us, i dont think nintendo guys can possibly overtake the box in the next system

Nintendo will fall soon, IMO, unless they change their ways. Like, getting an online network up. That topic "New Iwata Interview" seems to point to the fact they are against online gaming.

yeah..........that is the sole reason behind getting the xbox and ditching the gamecube........online play rocks, and if nintendo doesnt get it........goodbye nintendo (well, you may be able to give them the handheld market)

whats really strange is..........all the nintendo guys agree with them about the online play........like nintendo brainwashed them (which would explain the passionate topic in the GC forum, too).........i do not understand how they cant think that online gaming will dominate the market

I'm far from a PS2 fanboy. You can ask Neph, he'll tell you that. :lol But the XBOX 2 "taking" Sony next gen? I just don't see it happening, especially if MS makes the X2 non-backwards compatible and takes away the hard drive. With the hard drive now, the XBOX is at what, maybe 15 million worldwide in sales, compared to 70 million for the PS2? If only half of the 70 million PS2 owners buy a PS3 and all 15 million XBOX owners buy the X2, they still wouldn't be close. If you think you can convince me that MS actually has a chance, go for it. ;)

Probably as much as you do. Rumors, rumors, and more rumors. :D

Seriously though, all I know is that it's going to run off cell technology that was co-developed by Sony, Toshiba, and IBM (I think). Technical specs don't mean that much to me though, as I'm not a tech geek so I don't understand half of what it means.

Anyway, just to make it clear, I'll quote myself from the other topic:

I think you misunderstand me. I think the XBOX 2 will easily have games that will be much better than the PS3.

However, you have to consider that the PS2 has a HUGE user base. What is it now, 70 million worldwide? Compared to maybe 15 million for the XBOX? If twice the people bought XBOX 2 that would be 30 million. If only half the current PS2 owners bought the PS3, that would still be 35 million, which would still be more.

Does this mean the PS3 will be better than the XBOX 2? I personally don't think so. But I do think the PS3 will outsell the other two systems just because of the carry-over from the PS2 user base.

But.........if went out and found an official article tommorow that said PS3 will not have backwards compatability, and then gave a list of very junky games that would be released for PS3......and then found another official article that said the Xbox2 will have backwards compatibility and listed a whole bunch of great games that would come out for it when it was released......would you still be interested in the PS3? I mean, if they announced a whole bunch of junk that would be featured in the PS3, would people still follow it?

I'm not making this argument really from my point of view; if I was, I would be saying that Nintendo would take them both next gen. However, as much as I hope for that, I'm trying to be as realistic as possible. :D

If you are asking me personally, though, this is what I think:

The PS3 is a bit of a wildcard. If I still like Final Fantasy after FFXII, and there's a Final Fantasy game on the PS3, I will have to get it eventually whether it's a piece of junk or not. Of course if everything else about it sucked I would wait until the 3rd or 4th price drop before getting it. Or maybe not get it at all and just miss out on a few FF games.

The Revolution is a launch buy for me because I like Nintendo.

XBOX 2 is probably going to be a companion console to the Revolution, bought after launch, maybe after the 1st price drop. If they revive True Fantasy Live Online for the launch, however, I'm there Day 1. For XBOX 2, it's going to be about the games more than anything.

Good point....I would actually agree with you almost completely, except I would get an xbox2 on launch, just because im a fan of microsoft and the xbox, and wait for a price drop or some very good reviews on the Revolution.......just because i cant completelygive up on nintendo :p So, i see where your coming from........and your right, a lot of people will get the PS3 just because they are fans of the other playstations........i just hope microsoft can convince a few of them to switch over

:lol

I could care less about online console gaming.... If had a choice.. I would just play PC online only.
Its a lot more efficient on the PC.

I don't like Xbox live.

and I want my gaming console to be just that.  no DVD player... nothing else.  I am not brainwashed... I just want my normal console.  If it doesn't have online... oh well... I don't want to pay extra for it.
Honestly.... when I can play free games online on the PC... why pay for the console  whoopie... I can get halo for the PC :p  and IMO its better.

The PC version of doom 3 is going to blow away the Xbox version.  On top of that... I want my keyboard and mouse.

maybe the xbox has a keyboard combination now.... but they used to not have one and I think that sucks.

brainwashed or not... If Nintendo has online in the future, I won't be buying into it.  seriously...... meaning the online service :)
I'll always buy nintendo systems.

I agree with you entirely about PC online gaming.

One small problem.

My computer doesnt run any new games.....

Meaning.....

I have to stick to the Xbox, which doesnt get outdated, and pay for their online service, which is worth it, because they have a whole lot better of an online game selection than the PS2 games, and I dont have to pay to upgrade my computer every month that it gets outdated.

BTW--------GET OUTTA MY FORUM!!!!!! lol, nintendo guys arent SUPPOSED to read what i say about them! :lol

I played on a P2 266 Mhz PC for 6 years... I finally upgraded in april 2003 :)
yes, I spent $2500 on a new PC... but not only can I do a crap load with the PC.. I use it for business.. and I can play any game that comes online.

Sorry... I don't like the whole "Xbox is trying to be a PC" thing.

I see what you all are saying but... I just don't see where the anti-Nintendo thing comes in just because there is no online.

You see, though.......i think a lot of people are coming from what i am saying.........they want to play online games, but cant play them on their PC because either it isnt good enough, or they dont want to pay a whole bunch of money for it to upgrade....

Another thing i just thought of about PC gaming.......lag.......i have played only a few online PC games with more than 8 people per game that doesnt lag horribly..........with the Xbox (both a disadvantage and an advantage IMO) is you HAVE to have broadband, which cuts down on the lag extremely well....with both PS2 and PC gaming there can be dialup, and that just kills some games

Yeah, the main reason PC games aren't that great is because your computer can get outdated. Plus, some PC games you do have to pay for to go online. (Mostly MMO's) And XBL is cheap. $6 a month to play any game that is online on the Xbox is a very good deal.

well.. Blizzard is free... and I have never had to pay to play online :)
Plus... if I could survive 7 years on a P2 266 mhz machine...... with very lagless play, that cannot be too much of an issue.

IE, I was playing Quake 2 on that machine... and I had a ping of 40 ms all the time!

oh well I guess... to each their own

The only thing I know MS did right was XBL. But even then, alot of people who don't/can't have broadband won't even care about that. But I do have broadband, so I can say that XBL is pretty amazing. With its newest version, user created content is allowed, making custom maps, mods, logos, etc possible.

Hey,
Oh god Neph, now you force me to write more!!!
About the quality, I honestly cannot believe you don't know how crap sony is. I had a ps2 that broke down, my 5 {thats right5!} friends had a ps2 break down. Sony had a hardware number to call, it was always busy, always. Look on the hardware help websites dude, PS2 will have like 10,000 comments while GC and Xbox have like 1000, sure you can say it's becuase more people own a PS2 but the margin is just to high for that to be the case. Believe me Neph, this one is NOT arguable, PS2 has crap quality. So yes Neph I am more than willing to put my money where my mouth is...

Ever picked up an issue of EGM? they have shown like 2 screens already for an Xbox 2 game.

You do not own an Xbox so how can you say it has "boring" games? I have owned a PS2 since day one dude and I have just as many good Xbox games as I have PS2 games, so that argument has been crushed.

Let me make it clear for you neph since you have problems understanding the simplest of arguments. Xbox is lightyears ahead of PS2 in terms of graphics and power. So what I said is that PS3 will probably be just a little better than Xbox 1 in terms of graphics and power, and yet again Xbox 2 will be light years ahead. So, once again MS will be looking in the rearview mirror. Understand?

Well, ok Neph like I said "most" gamers know the superior quality of Xbox. Japan? do I care about Japan, uhhhh, no.
