One have always been about skateboarding, and the other one snowboarding. SSX used to be racing and tricks, and TH all about tricks with a time limit in each level. Then TH went freeroaming, so SSX didn't want to be worse and made an entire mountain into one level. (but with different races). Now TH have one massive level just like SSX3, and adds BMX bikes as well as skateboards. And what happens? SSX On Tour will not only be a massive level, but it will be much better than the one in SSX3 (which changed into a massive level halfway through development), but will also add skis. Not only that, but THUG had a story. And what'ya know, SSX On Tour sees you as a low name rider trying to make a name for yourself. You start one on one, win a bit, get a reputation and eventually race (and hopefully wins) World Events. Kinda like THUG did. Are these games copying each other or inspiring each other? Not that it's a bad thing.
So to summon up:
* Tony Hawk's added freeroaming. So did SSX3.
* SSX3 was one massive level. So is TH's American Wasteland.
* TH's Underground had a story. So do SSX4 aka SSX On Tour.
* They both add a new element. TH's have BMX bikes, SSX has skis.
Am I the only one who heards "Crossover" somewhere in the near distant future?
Tony Hawk on snowboard? Zoe on a skateboard? Could happen. (and if you bothered to check the Bio's in SSX3, most characters enjoy other sports than snowboarding anyway.)
