With Today's Consoles,Don't You Think That They Could Make Longer Games?

Hello Addicts!

With today's technology when it comes to video game consoles, don't you think that they could put a little extra oomph into their titles as far as length of game play?
My brother commented that the new "GhostBusters was rather short. In all fairness, there are several elements at play, some people like to rape the game they bought and get it finished like yesterday, others like to enjoy the game on a deeper level by doing every side quest, collecting every trophy, etc.

Wouldn't you like to see a game that you love, especially an rpg have the most content possible?Perhaps a 2 disc Final FantasyTitle,or any other genre? They could have easily made "Resident Evil 5" longer,so why not?

God Bless,
Kaz

Well, developers focus more about the quality and the gameplay in their games but I dont think they have enough time or think that much about how long their game would be.

I never have much time anymore :( So if I beat a game in 2 days, I feel like I just read a book to be honest.

Heck, I've been trying to get my World of Warcraft character to level 80 since MARCH and here it is AUGUST. He's only level 72 and most people would mock me, but I really wish I had more free time :(.

I've come to really appreciate the 20 hour or less games. When I was younger I enjoyed those 100+ hour RPG's, but I am just not that hardcore anymore. There's more to life than video games and I just don't have the need to spend that much time with a single game anymore. Like right now I am trying to play through FF8 and I'm already 50 hours in and only half way through the game! So yes, I am definitely in favor of quality over quantity these days :)

They do make long games. You're just not playing them, obviously.

:lol

Tell your brother to play Lost Odyssey, I'm sure four discs ought to be enough. ;)

Personally I like short games, since I don't usually have a lot of time to devote to gaming anymore.

It's amazing I've been able to play Persona 4 as much as I have. ^_^

I love the card game in "FF8".
Sadly,in "FF9" they pushed the envelope too far with the stupid(In my opinion)new rules. :D

Yea, FF9's card game was just ridiculous. Didn't even make sense :-\

I think I'm the only one who likes FF9's card game. o.o I had almost every card in the game on one file.

That. I know of plently of long games. lol

Well trust me I wanted to like it, I just never actually figured it out :P I did play it a lot and got a lot of the cards, but even so, I never really knew what I was doing lol. Another thing about that game was that treasure hunter rating. I thought I did pretty well but always got bad rankings on that. Grrr now I am feeling like playing it again!

What the hell happens when you collect all 3 of Morrid's coffee for him in "FF9"?
I never found out.Any of you know?

I thought he gives you some crappy model or something useless like that. Been a while, though...

God forbid it should be an item or accessory that can help you out in the game. ::D

do you use a leveling guide when you do play? cause i did and i leveled at least once every time i played.

Games can also be TOO long though. I would rather feel satisfied with finishing a game than just have it getting repetitious.

He gives you a model of an airship that really does nothing whatsoever. :lol It's good for the "completion feel good feeling" though.

Oh yeah, I got add-ons and such, but sometimes I wander off from the tedious chores of killing 10-15 or 30 of the same thing over and over again :lol

 it can get abit boring killing 30 of something especially when you kill a few and then can't find any for awhile.
