Goldman Sachs mentioned that Microsoft will continue to support Xbox with the launch of Xbox 2 sometimes between October or November 2005, at a retail price between US$249 to US$299. Microsoft expects to ship 3 million units of Xbox 2 worldwide in US until mid-2006.
 
That seems like a fair price, actually. If they have a solid launch line-up as far as games go, I might be able to get XBOX 2 on launch.
 
Accoding to this article everything will be revealed on the best day of the year, May 12th, on MTV. They are going to have a half hour program dedicated to it.

I don't know it I believe this yet or not. Its way too soon.

seriously... don't you all think? Maybe Msoft is hurting or something and they are trying to get something new out there to distract the DS and PSP.....

Maybe I am wrong though.... but I do think its too early.... I mean 2005. Come on.... release the Cube / Xbox / PS3 in 2006 at least. Give the systems 1 more year.

From a consumer stand point I wouldnt want all three to come out the same year because I wouldnt be able to afford to. Plus If MS releases it around the same year as the other 2 then it would be a little bit harder for them to get an edge over them.
 
I read a while ago that Microsoft wanted to release before everything else........sounds like they were able to get everything done and can release it soon enough to do that.
 
the xbox 2 isnt going to be as power full as the ps3 this go round.. the cell processor is like 3 to 4 times more power full.. the pysics engine only has like 3 ports and the cell chip has 8.

It seems like just yesterday I bought my GC and Super Smach Brothers...

I actually agree with BV on this one. I don't know who decided that half a decade was long enough for a system's life span, but I still don't feel like I really got my money's worth out of my GC. Sure there have been some great games on each console, but I'm still waiting for some really good games that I expected to see when this generation of consoles hit.
 
Back when the first PS came it out it felt like it was around forever before the PS2 came out. But now the PS2 has been around just as long as the first PS did when PS2 came out and it feels like it flew by. I believe that the more advanced the system the longer it should hang around to reach its full potential. But nowadays its all about money and trying to get as manys systems into a home because they know that there arent as many people that will actually buy all three major consoles.
