The PS2 was the weakest graphically, and just had a DVD going for it. If Sony had ignored Blu-Ray, maybe HD even, they would have sold off the PlayStation name, right?

When Blu-Ray wins (and its pretty clear they will), the PS3 will be one of the cheapest Blu-Ray players out there. Also, in terms of games, Blu-Ray gives the PS3 a larger graphical advantage, and I it will probably give the PS3 a long life span that the 360 and Wii will lack.

I know, but the ability to play Blu-Ray isn't the only advantage a Blu-Ray drive gives to the PS3.Dart said:You're most likely right. But it's sad. A videogame console that's purchased as a Blu-Ray player first, and a game console second is just sad. I am actually kind of glad that the 360 and Wii didn't come with DVD playback capabilities. They are game systems. Not home theatre systems. Maybe I am a purist.
Man, I miss carts...

What you mean like Nintendo was supposed to dominate with the N64? :Boom$ickle said:Im saying that if History Repeats itself twice, wouldnt you expect it to happen again?
