64% of gamers prefer Physical disc instead of digtal downloads.

MegaDrive20XX

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
Interestingly, amongst the same respondents, only 45 percent preferred having their music on disc, and only 51 said they would rather have DVDs than downloadable movies.

For PC gaming, I'd definitely rather have digital downloads. I love reformatting, but hate reinstalling every single game.

I prefer disc since they are more reliable than an internet connection. Although for PC I'm willing to use steam since it's cheaper. I also care more about consoles than PC's.

Oh yeah, as far as music, I definitely prefer a disc. I like to have control over what formats I can have my music in rather than let the iTunes store or Zune store determine that for me.

I have lots of music CDs, especially foreign stuff and video game soundtracks. Most digital stores don't have that, and I refuse to use Limewire for anything after it killed one of my computers once. >_<

I do usually convert them into files for my Zune, but I keep the physical disc handy in case anything happens to my computer (or my Zune).

This.
I do like digital music though. It's a lot easier to organize that way.

+1

Actually, with music, I prefer buying on hard copy. I make a digital backup of each CD as soon as I get it. That way, I can use my digital backup copy on my PC while I use the hard copy in my car CD player.

Games I only play on my PC. I've been happy with Steam, but definitely won't complain about my old discs. I loved that my old Quake, Quake 2, and Descent 2 discs were also CD audio discs.

I don't remember the last time I bought an actual CD.

I don't know if I've ever paid for a downloadable version of a full retail game.

I deeply desire expanding my Blu-ray collection.

No rhyme or reason to any of it really...

I actually store my hard copies of CDs in a binder. For my car, I burn mix CDs because it's not very often that I like every single song on a CD, and I like variety.

I prefer digital, depending on how strict the DRM is. Steam is a good example of digital downloads done right. Its very convenient. Consoles I don't have a preference really, but I suppose in case the servers ever get shut down I'd prefer a hard copy.

I agree with this. its alot better to have itunes library instead of a bunch of CD's cause like Mai said i like to have mix CD's and not just a whole Album of one artist. Variety is good.

I still like CDs. I am a sucker for cover art. I like DVDs just because. Games, I like the real deal. When it comes to digital, I usually rip CDs to my computer and then upload them to my MP3 player. I like the discs as backup.

I buy music off Amazon and burn them to CDs for backup. :p

I'm going to bump this topic. I stilll think bandwidth and connections are not where they need to be for Digital distribution...

Post it up!!
