64% of gamers prefer Physical disc instead of digtal downloads.

I prefer digital PC games and digital music (With few exceptions, like Alter Bridge and Foo Fighters)
I Like dics for my PS3, because I have 100ish gb of Movies/pictures/music on my HDD.

Being that I am on the same internet connections that Noah's Ark had, dial-up, digital downloads are out of the question. :lol

And I do prefer hardcopies of things that I can hold in my hand and feel. I can hold the cart, or disc, in my hands feeling the contours of the shape, the weight, smell it, and if it is a cart, see the pins of the PCB. Some may think that this is perverted, or maybe a generation gap of sorts, old skool thinking carry overs, or some twisted brain aneurysm. Having a hard copy, if there is a death, I have something to bury. Something to cry on so that the tears soak and stain the label. Many may not understand that, maybe it is a type of retro sickness that seems to be incurable. ;)

I do admit that I do occasionally purchase an MP3 on-line. And I do have a Kindle where I do purchase books that I cannot find in print. But that is the extint that I do digital. I even prefer having the movies I watch on DVD.

I prefer physical disks, just because unless there is a malfunction with the disk, nothing can be messed up or lost.

I know at least I am personally at the point where I can do all of my PC gaming through digital downloads. I have a good enough internet connection at home and school and I have a tendency to lose a lot of physical copies of games lol. Doing everything digitally means I'll never have that problem again. The only reasons I see not to like digital downloads are slow internet and low storage space.

It doesn't bother me either way, but I tend to go more towards digital downloads anymore. I have the HD space, the internet connection, and it's just more convenient to me.

Edit: Lol, didn't realize I had posted already in this topic. :lol Still feel the same way as my 2010 self pretty much.

Best of both worlds:

As previously stated, I have all of the original Quake games on disc. However, since Steam had a sale on the Quake package, I bought it as insurance if anything should ever happen to my physical copies.

Discs from the 1990s with CD audio on them are definitely worth keeping for the music too. :D

I always prefer having a physical disc. I have a lot of old games. Let's say I want to play it 10 year or more down the road. I want to be able to pop the disc in an play.

Welcome back!!! Good to have you back here :) Please stay and post up!

I have to agree... I have many PC games from the early 90's LOL... IE Descent, Doom 2, Doom...etc.

I still prefer physical discs as well.

Currently my wireless connection is crappy so it's hard to download anything without getting disconnected. But even with a good connection, I think I just like the immediacy of using a disc.

Kinda nice that on certain games, digital distribution allows games to stay up to date.

Bluevoodu noted that the Steam version of Quake 4 is enhanced and contains more graphics options than the physical PC copy he had.

Yeah, I've been neglecting my gaming side.

I've got all those too. I love old DOS games. So much that I've got an old computer running DOS just to play them. I'm looking at getting into some older games like King's Quest and such. I just need to find an external 5 1/2" floppy drive. I still don't know how I feel about Steam. How long will it be around? When it's gone will I still be able to play my games? Serious Sam 3 is out and I really want it but you can't get a physical copy. At least not here in the U.S. I'm hoping there's a physical release at some point so I'm holding out even though I really want it.

I also worry about DRM issues as well.

Discs are the way to go for me. Guess it's the classic gamer in me. It's not really a game if I don't have to insert a disc or cart.

While I enjoy Steam and the like, I do prefer a CD for games. It makes it feel like I got more for my money, if that makes sense.

I think it makes my collection look bigger more than anything. I like having a stack of movies and games.

Yes, it does look more impressive when you post pictures online and there are lots of games in the picture. :lol
