A DSLite saved the day!!!

Here is a lil smile for ya :)
OK, so the night before last it started to snow, right? So, my husband goes and sets his alarm clock to 1 am, so he can get up and go do all his snow plowing then.

So, we put in disc 3 of Samurai 7, and are right to the point of a big sword fight starting....and the power goes out.

Now, what? Our alarm clock can't work without power.

We played our DSLites in bed in the dark for awhile, and then my hubby tried setting the alarm on his for 1 am. We had never used the alarms before. So anyways, it worked like a charm.

It woke him up in time and his snow customers are all happy...all because of his DS!! :)

Yes, and it's not loud if you adjust the volume.

Ya'll remember my crazy hotel stay in Charlotte a few weeks ago when the fire alarm went off?? Well, it was my first time using the DS as an alarm. And when the fire alarm went crazy, my DS almost got smashed. Being that I never heard the alarm before, and I was in a sleep induced confused state, I swung my arm up and went to swat my DS. A quick look at the time stopped my from crushing it.

Both. You know where you set the time, date and whatnot?? In the same area you can set the time for your alarm. That way the next time you want to use it, you go to the configuration screen, hit the alarm icon and it will ask you if you want to turn the allarm on.

Cool. I think it's much less annoying than my real alarm clock, and it's still loud enough to hear when the DS is closed.

this has bugged me for awhile, can you close the ds when the alarm is on, and if it is closed, will it still sound on time?

Yep. But you might want to set the volume all the way up because with the DS closed, it may get muffled a bit.

I was going to say... the DS alarm didn't seem that loud. ALTHOUGH, I have the regular Nintendo DS, not the Nintendo DS Lite.

does the ds have to stay on to work or can they shut off? :-\

Just set the alarm for a minute later and turned it off ... nothing happened. Looks like you have to leave it on in order to work.
