A Question For American Citizens

Hi All,

To begin with,I really don't know much about politics or American Health Care,so please forgive me if misunderstand something about your fine country's political and health care system.I recently happened to catch the documentary "Sicko" by Michael Moore. For any of you that has seen it,I couldn't help but feel bad for that poor couple that had to give up their home because of co-pay fees and deductables with respect to their medical coverage.

Once again, please forgive me if misunderstand something, but why doesn't your country use the same health care that we do in Canada?Would that not be more helpful?

God Bless,
MR.KAZ

Well what do they pay for Health Care in Canada? Do people have to pay for very specialized procedures such as person gets massive headache, falls out then has to have emergency brain surgery or do people get same-cost coverage for any medical condition possible?

Even though you don't pay for Health Care, since Canada gets it for free, doesn't necessarily mean that it's better. The Health Care in the US is good as is, could be better, even if we do pay for it.

Hi Guys,

I am in no way attacking the American Health Care System, and I am in no way trying to say that Canada's Health Care System is better than the American Health Care System.I'm just curious to know, that's it.I told you in this post that I didn't know a whole lot about the American Health Care System, nor do I it's Political System,I'm just trying to learn,so lose the attitude alright. >:(

I was just stating my opinions on the matter at hand, sorry if I sounded if I had an attitude.

No Harm No Foul Fr0dus.This post is just another example of people taking things the wrong way,due to the Internet's lack of emotional content. You have every right to your own opinion, and I respect that.

I think Canada's health care system is better than America's (mostly because it exists), but I wouldn't base your opinion off of a Michael Moore documentary. A lot of people justify not having a public health care system by saying it doesn't make sense for people who invest their own money into their health (eat healthy, excercise, etc.) to also pay the bill for someone who is in and out of the hospital every week because they make poor choices when it comes to their own health.

The Canadian Health Care system is starting to face its own crisis now as we have an aging population. The Baby Boomer generation is of the retiring age and their starting to run up medical costs, costs that have to be paid with taxes. And in a country that already feels a bit overburdened with taxes it may be more likely we will see a cutting of service before we pay more to keep what we've got. I don't personally agree with this, I don't mind paying taxes for people who need help, but abusing the system and mismanagement have always been the problems private health care claims to eliminate.

I'm glad to live in a country that has a public health care plan, and proud of it too, but I'm not naive to the problems that exist in our system, none of which Michael Moore even so much as mentioned in his "documentary."

I guess I have learned that there is a pro and con to everything. Thanks to paying for stuff in the medical system, people are researching treatments at breathtaking speeds and are finding the safest and least costliest treatments, and even alternative treatments for a variety of diseases and maladies.

Michael Moore is hardly an expert in any area of society. It's very easy, though, to interview the extremest of cases and say that it's the norm. In short, he is a moron.

Is it completely broken? No. Just like any other version of healthcare, it has it's faults.

W'Sup People!

Maybe I'm misinformed, but it seems that several members of the forum aren't very fond of Michael Moore. Why is that?Wasn't that documentary "Sicko" made for a positive reason?I don't know much about the guy,but after reading a few comments, this guy is made to look like the Anti-Christ.Why do these various members dislike him so much?

God Bless,
MR.KAZ
