Am I the only one finding it hard to play games that require time commitments?

Seriously, for the last three days, I've turned Metroid Prime 2 on...and just watched the title screen for 15 minutes.

Welcome to the club! Seriously, I do the same thing. I will put in Tales Of Symphonia and just play for like 10 minutes and then turn it off. I think it's because I know I can't put in the 4-5 hours of play time that I want to, so I just say screw it. I miss the old days where I could sit and play for like 8 hours straight with no worries about "real life".

Whoa I do the same thing when I play Baten Kaitos Origins, though once I get to that 20 minute mark I finally committ to it. I also do it with Pokemon, it takes so much time to get from the "welcome to the world of pokemon" to the "Pokemon Leader _________ was defeated"

Yeah, I kind of worry that I've lost touch with my inner gamer. Right now I'm just really feeling anime and manga more than games. So when I have free time it's usually doing one of those instead of gaming.

The only thing I'm doing gamewise right now is playing through Crisis Core again. The way it's paced, it's really easy to just play for a few minutes at a time. Like on my 15 minute breaks, I can usually fit in about 2 or 3 missions. On my one hour lunch I can do parts of the story, from one save point to the next one, with a few missions thrown in.

Next game I'm really looking forward to is FFTA2, though. I'll probably be glued to my DS once that hits.

Right now I really don't have the time to put into any game that requires an hour or so of play time. With my job and yardwork, that time of the year you know, my free time is squeezed down a bit. That is why I have switched my gaming to the Neo Geo CD fighters and NES games. Things that are easy to pick up and play for a few minutes and get some satisfaction out of it. When things slow down, then I will get back into something like a RPG. :)

I have a growing problem...

I have basically lost my drive to play videogames. Strubes tried to suggest me playing the Prince of Persia series again, but my parents took my TV because of my English grade. Handhelds are not fun to me...

I'm worried. Help?

That reminds me of my friend who seems to be unable to get back into buying games or playing them on his 360. He only occasionally plays it when I beg him to beat a game for me or to at least download a demo.

Uh, Pokemon is pretty much the biggest pick-up-and-play RPG.

1 word to rule them all! DETERMINATION.

It's the key element to getting off the "dead space" of getting bored of a game and focusing on the task at hand. I will finish Fable, Final Fantasy 9, and Lego Indiana Jones by golly!

We tend to loose interest in many games, due to the fact we usually go on a spree, get burnt out, and then set it aside.

Don't worry, my days, it's always a spur of the moment when it comes to sitting down and finishing a game. Yet I really think it's just stopping everything you're doing, focus, and finish that fight!

Knock out the priorities first, education first.

How can you do badly in English? I mean, srsly, it's like the easiest class.

Eh, not for some, depending on which form of writing you are currently working on.

NO IS NOT XD is very very hard >_>.

well hines don't take this the wrong way but you might not be satisfied by next-gen consoles.

maybe what you need is play a game that gives you a lot of nostalgia, a game that if you play again you will remember the good times... my game is legend of dragoon wich one is yours?

what i do have problem is doing some annoying side-quests for some games

Um... I very rarely got above a C in English classes.

As for the topic... I always have a hard time keeping with games. I get a new game, say "OOO this is fun!", play it off and on for a good week maybe, then stop playing it. :-\ I hate doing that... I wanna finish a game once in a while. :lol

Just be glad that youre not like me and have never beat a game in over two years (spare Tales of Eternia that I finally decided to sit and finish Sunday). I buy new games then play them at least 6 months to a year later.

Yeah, if you don't have Satan as a teacher, I suppose.

But today was my last day of school.
