Could this embark the return of the $49.99 title??

Not me. Cost cutting means quality cutting, something many titles suffer from already.

I'm looking at you, EA.

Good point, but don't you think increased sales on new games would be beneficial?

After the fact. Production costs are calculated before manufacture and release, and the lion's share of the budget goes to the production staff, so less money means fewer staff. Of course, with so many people being laid-off in industries across the board, we're all about to get a lot thinner.

If this happens, that means most Wii games will be released at $40!
