Another Diablo 2 Question - Shrines?

I checked out the Blizzard shrine FAQ here:
http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/shrines.shtml

BUT the question Ihave is... do shrines negatively effect you like they did in Diablo 1?

IE sometiems when you used a shrine in Diablo 1, it limited your future upgrade use. Is that the same in Diablo2 ?

the fire shrines do.. but other than that i don't think so

the fire shrines just burn you though, right?
and hurt the hit points... but not actual stats...etc.... correct?
