This section is a bit slow... are people not as interested in the psp? not many games coming out..etc? Nothing to talk about on the PSP?

:lol what's the deal people :)

BV :hat

I used to have one, but i really wish i didn't because the game library is very slim. But now I guess you will be able to download any PS1 game onto the PSP here pretty soon - somehow - idk

There are two huge games releasing this year on the PSP....

Valkyrie Profile Lenneth
Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories

.....those should be enough to merit some excitement. They've got me excited. :D

I would get a PsP if it was cheaper. It seems cool but I know I will lose interest in it after a while.

Isn't it VICE City Stories?

Ooooops, my bad. Yeah that's what I meant. :lol :lol LCS is already out. :D Thanks for the correction of an obvious boo boo on my part. :p

I have some interest but Im not buying games for a while.

I am looking forward to the new Metal Gear: Portable Ops game. It looks killer. Also Killzone and LocoRoco are on my radar. The PSP is actually finally getting some great games.

Yes and as I've said, the markets are a tad different for the DS and the PSP which is great. It really adds more to the handheld market. The DS has it's share of great titles and you could say is the leader in the handheld market but the PSP has great titles that look and play like console titles. That is what they should emphasize more on. You get near home console type graphics and gameplay with the convenience of portability. :D

Ah but the convenience comes at a price. Which are...higher prices for both the games and the handheld and longer loading times than it's console brethren. They should just emphasize on gameplay a little more than graphics. That's why Im interested in LocoRoco because it's something that would have actually been better suited for the DS. Not to mention Me and My Katamari which is also great. Something that is more suited for being able to just pick up and play. If you can get the same games, or similar ones, on consoles then there is no point in picking up a PSP.

I had a PSP and three games, which I traded in and got 4 DS games and a PS2 game instead.

My reasons are numerous, but the biggest ones would have to be that the load times are horrible and the controls are often clunky, as most games are not made for the PSP, but are made for the PS2 and then ported to the PSP.

You mentioned Me & My Katamari, but honestly, don't even bother. Just play the PS2 Katamari games. They control better on the PS2, the load times aren't as bad on the PS2, and the music is better for the PS2 versions. In the PSP Katamari, they just recycle the music from the previous games, and there aren't as many stages, either.

On the good side, there's finally some original content coming out on the PSP that's built specifically for it. Ultimate Ghosts N Goblins and LocoRoco, for example. And I think Namco is releasing a new Tales game, too.

I think I will eventually get a PSP again, but for now I'd rather put the money towards more DS games.

Well I bothered with the PSP Katamari since I can't find the originals and I don't mind it because it's something that is still fun and different than the other games, it's a fun game that you can't get on the DS or on a Nintendo console. But I agree with everything you've said.

I know the load times can be a pain, I play the WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2006 game after all, but you have to remember that the system is in it's infancy. The PS1 and PS2 in their early stages were much worse with loading times than later installments.

Yes the prices are a little higher but not to an insane degree. And it's like anything else. I buy a lot of my games when they go down in price with only certain games that I'll buy when they first release.

In other words I believe the PSP will only get better and better. :D

here's my lil PSP list of goodies I want

Namco Museum Battle Collection
Gradius Collection

Future releases:
Power Stone Collection
Capcom Classics Collection RELOADED
Capcom Puzzle World (Includes Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, and more...)
ULTIMATE GHOSTS N GOBLINS
Silent Hill Origins
Guilty Gear Judgement
Metal Slug Anthology

One hit after another this year in 2006 for the PSP

really i havent heard anything on this

Found out recently that there will be a sequel to Ridge Racer on the PSP. Still trying to figure out if I want yo wait for the US release or just get it when the game is released in Japan. I'm very stoked for this game even more than GTA. I'm still playing the heck out of the first one. I've unlocked the Max Tour races and so far it's been hard but not frustrating and it's a blast. It does make things more interesting when all four drivers are driving neck and neck throughout the entire race. :D
