Banjo-Kazooie has Problems...Rare will fix it. (UPDATE!)

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts on the 360 has a problem. Like Dead Rising a few years back, it has small text. This small text looks nice and clean on a HDTV, but if you're still soldiering on with a CRT television, you won't be able to read it. It's just too small, too blurry. The problem was noticed as soon as the demo went live, so with the game yet to be released, there's still time to fix the problem, yes? Uh...no. Rare's George Kelion has said:

"I'm sorry that we weren't able to address this issue as nothing would please us more than turning all your complaints into gleeful responses, but it's simply something that's too expensive in terms of time, resources and money to alter."

Wouldn't have been so expensive if someone had thought to check earlier in development, and...oh, that's not helping, is it.

So it should basically say "Only on HDTV" on the box rather than "Only on 360".

Re: Banjo-Kazooie has Problems...Rare won't fix.

Well I know who won't be getting my money now.  Why is it so **** hard to test on a REGULAR tv.  You know, those poor ancient CRT televisions that nobody uses anymore?  ::)

Re: Banjo-Kazooie has Problems...Rare won't fix.

>_> Now I'm definitely not getting this one. Oh well. At least they're releasing the awesome Banjo-Kazooie's over XBLA.

Re: Banjo-Kazooie has Problems...Rare won't fix.

You know. This just irritates me. It's like they're trying to force everyone to have an HDTV. >:(

Thank god some developers listen to the people. :)

Yeah, to do otherwise would have been a huge mistake. Not just for this game, but for the PR debacle that would have ensued.

I still resent the assumption made by some developers that all gamers are playing under ideal conditions. Especially with the continued lack of splitscreen multiplayer despite the fact that about half of Xbox 360 owners don't subscribe to Live. I know this is a tangent, but I always hear people in the press, and on development side, talk about how no one wants to play on a screen that's split up 4 ways with bots.

Allow me to say, emphatically so, that yes, we bloody well do! Some of the most fun I've had playing games with friends has been in games like Perfect Dark, or Timesplitters 2, and now with powerful systems that could easily run squads of bots and so forth nobody does it. Its disheartening.

Just like when a developer assumes you're going to be playing their game on a $1500 TV. Especially on a game like Banjo-Kazooie, where ultra-high-def-resolution is apparently "necessary" to enjoy the cartoony world.

Only because they realized it will hurt their sales. They didn't really listen, they just heard that we were pissed.

True..but they listened to us complaining, and made the appropriate actions. So in that regard, they still listened!....kinda.. :lol
