Best FPS Gaming Monitor?

Hmm, 24" will probably run you about $400 for a regular monitor. It might not be able to get you the best.

You might want to take a look at some of the Dell monitors that Dell has on their site. Some are meant for gaming so they have better refresh rates and colors.

Make sure you pay attention to the resolution, contrast ratio, response time, and inputs (DVI for DVI graphics card, HDMI inputs for ps3 or 360).

well i have an ACER 23" widescreen LCD, 1080p, HD moniter and im not sure on the model but there is a part that says 80000:1 ACM

There you go. $400 even, 27 inches, 1080p, and 2ms response time.

Boom. Always go for the Asus Monitor. No lag whatsoever.

It's funny you should mention ASUS. Fry's had a sale today on a 23" for $159 plus a $30 rebate. It's a very nice monitor..

Are they? I will check them out when I buy a new one soon here.

The one that I bought from Fry's is very nice. You wouldn't expect it to be this good because it's ASUS but I was pleasantly surprised. You have to make sure you get the ones that have the 2ms response time though. Mine even has an HDMI input.

Pretty sure all have HDMI. And I've never had a bad experience with any asus product.

Between HDMI and DVI, are they the same quality?

Most higher end graphics cards have DVI, though some have HDMI or mini HDMI outputs now. I have seen DVI to HDMI converter cables, but do not know if there is any loss in using one.

They're the same, it's just that HDMI has a higher bandwidth so it can also transfer high-quality audio. If you care about audio, I don't think you would want to use it though. PC Monitors don't exactly have high-end speakers.

Eh, I use Bose Companion desktop speakers on an analogue output from my X-fi Titanium anyhow.

I figured that digital video signal is digital video signal whether it is HDMI or DVI, just didn't know if there was any other variable I didn't know.

Not the one I went with, but I agree. I have a VH236H. Picked it after a lot of consideration. I love it.
