This game distinguishes itself from the rest by engaging the player intellectually and intuitively to provide an experience that defines the purpose of the medium, and is exemplary in its execution of that purpose. The technical components of the game perform flawlessly; the game’s world, characters, and story are all well designed; and the emotional journey the player goes through as a result is both rewarding and contemplative. The winner of this award must boast meaningful substance and thematic content that is complimented, not hindered, by its gameplay and technical ability.

I loved Gears of War 2 but it's just not the same playing alone. There's something about co-op that absolutely makes the game for me.

So I voted for Tales of Vesperia.

I would have voted for Fable 2, but Gears is a good second bet. Its just awesome, there's really not much more you can say. Its old school in all the best ways, yet its fresh, and exciting, and it manages to walk that fine line between making the gamer fear the obstacles that lie ahead of them and making the gamer feel there's nothing the developers can throw at them that their mad skillz can't handle. I hate to say it, but it really is bigger, better, and more ****** than its predecessor, and every other game that came out this year.
