Normally, we wouldn't condone leaving work early to play video games, so hear us out. You see, word on the street is that the street date for BioShock (yeah, the one with the awesome demo) has been broken by some US retailers (mostly ones with backwards Rs).

If you look at the receipt above, this lucky shopper not only managed to find BioShock early, but he got it for a steal using the deals we posted yesterday. So, here's what to do. Call your local Toys 'R' Us and see if they've got 'em and if they're selling. If it's a go, let people know about it in the comments. Wow, that's really early. Wasn't it dated for the 21st?

Well I guess it's a smart move though.

Scores are starting to come in. :) Game Informer gave Bioshock two 10s.
 
Yeah apparently some Toys R' Us's got confused and sold them today. There is a good chance that by now the stores aren't selling them or are sold out, since there are people who have already called and were denied.

Probably. Lots of people called up TRU and Im sure they noticed all the calls and realized what had happened. And Im sure 2K is aware of it as well.

UPDATE:
2K is aware and have confirmed that Bioshock will not be released early and are trying to figure out why TRU sold them early. Here's the article...

$60 for a game I'll play a month tops isn't a great deal. I may still get it though, its a hard call to make. The gaming drought of late has taken its toll on me. I don't think I have bought a new release since The Darkness.

Bioshock is a 15 hour game and has no multiplayer. For you Spartan I'd recommend just GameFly-ing it. :) Otherwise it will be known as Bioshort. :lol
 
i disagree, mai. although what you say is very true about a lot of games, bioshock is just a masterpiece everyone should have in their collection.
 
Yes, I know, but for Spartan is what I'm saying. Even though he really liked the Darkness, it was too short and had no replay value. He accidently called it "The Shortness" when we were in chat once, which is why I made the joke about "Bioshort." :lol I'm just saying in his particular case, it might be better to rent Bioshock and make a decision from there. In his opinion Darkness was a great game...if it had been $40. But for $60, due to the shortness of it and the bad multiplayer, he didn't feel like he got his money's worth.
 
Me personally, I'd buy Bioshock in an instant. If I had the money. :) But I'm not going to pull money off of something I already have reserved to get Bioshock. It's great, but I can wait until I have the money.

i agree. although, if the metroid delay happens to be true, im cancelling my preorder and getting bioshock in an instant.
 
Bioshock will provide me with plenty of fun because I'll replay quite a few times. Plus, it looks so good, I wouldn't care if it was only 6 hours or something.

@Mai, Did we really here it would be about 15 hours?
 
Toys R us is gonna be in deep trouble with their distrubitors. If you release a game early to the public, you can get punished. Like not recieve games for a while..or late..

Also, whoever has this game right now..can easily make $90-$120 now on Ebay...
