Yes, it's true. At this year's Consumer Entertainment Show, Microsoft is showing a playable Xbox Live Arcade version of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night at its booth.

The classic 2D, horizontal- and vertical-scrolling, adventure-RPG looks like an exact replica of the old Konami PlayStation game. Wow. Finally. When will it come out? What will the Achievements be? How can it possibly fit onto Xbox Live Arcade? IGN's very own Erik Brudvig is at the show and sniffing out the details. We'll have a hands-on report soon.

Also playable at Microsoft's booth are an XBLA version of Worms, Red Octane's Guitar Hero 2 (no news of a wireless controller yet), 2K Sports's MLB 2K7, and Electronic Arts's Def Jam Icon.

We'll have hands-on impressions of all these games tonight and tomorrow.

Normally I would get excited but I have the original and still play it to this day. I can't believe it's been around for a decade.
