Convince me to buy a Wii

Get a Wii. Don't listen to anybody else. And to all of you that are dissing the PS3's games, you go out and make a game with 1080i graphics that's actually successful, then you can mock Motorstorm all you want.

sorry jack, having a higher resolution doesnt make the game more fun.

No he's right. I don't really think making a game in 1080i resolution has anything to do with it, but the PS3 just needs time to gather some titles. People shouldn't diss PS3 games because the Wii has one really great game so far, just like the PS3.

I'd have to agree with Mai on that the Wii is a great companion console, which is by no means a bad thing. And the fact that the Wii is a blast when played with friends is the reason why I am not running to the nearest electronics store to get one right now as I tend to play only single player games.

I guess I didn't do a good job in convincing you to get a Wii... :-\

Yeah but the friends of a lot of hardcore gamers (not me) is their P.C. They don't have friends to play wii with. :lol

Honestly I am a big Nintendo fan, but no Nintendo console by itself is good enough if you are a true gamer. There is just not enough of a variety of genres on Nintendo consoles.

There is nothing like Gears of War or Crackdown or Halo on the Wii, and I doubt there ever will be. Metroid Prime 3 will be close, but the Metroid series has always been about exploration rather than run-and-gun shooting. There is also not enough good jrpgs on Nintendo home consoles. The Gamecube had my favorite jrpg ever in Tales of Symphonia, but Namco is weird and it's hard to predict if they will put any Tales games on the Wii. The 360 this year will have at least two great jrpgs in Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, and perhaps even Eternal Sonata.

Luckily if you do like Nintendo franchises like Zelda, Metroid, Mario, Kirby, Pokemon, etc. Nintendo usually makes their consoles inexpensive, so with some good money handling skills most people can afford to buy a Wii as a companion console. ^_^

I have to agree with you there. I love all of Nintendo's consoles, but there just isn't enough variety in the types of games. To really get all types of games, people should buy all the consoles, or just become a P.C gamer :D.

And your overlooking some really good RPG's coming out this year for the 360. Mainly MASS EFFECT!!! How come no one on this forum sounds excited about Mass Effect? Are you people weird, or am I (probably me). ::D ::D ::D

You obviously missed my point, Hines. Let me put this in more lamense terms. People shouldn't be ridiculing PS3's games just yet. Unless they can go out and make a better game than that game company, then it's a good idea to just keep your mouth shut and quit saying "PS3's games are teh suxxorss d00d!!!!". I don't really like the PS3, but enough is enough and I'm tired of it.

i agree, jack. not to cause an argument or anything, but the wii and the ps3 shouldnt even be compared at all. they are 2 comepletely different kinds of system, wii being for the casual user, and ps3 for the hardcore gamers.

on a second note, its impossible to make a 1080i wii game, so therefore it cant be compared to a ps3.

True gamers buy PS2s!

It's not a fanboy, I think the PS2 is the best true system if you're a fan of great games. I said that because Mai didn't include it.

True. But it depends on the motive for buying only one console...

I was talking about next-gen consoles. Last gen the PS2 did have the best amount of good games. Besides the GBA, anyway. This gen though I would give it to the 360 right now.

As far as Mass Effect goes, that is what would generally be referred to as a Western rpg, and I am just not a big fan of those (except for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion).

I got a wii. 2 months later I got a PS2. I havent touched the wii since. (And yes, I said ps2, as in the number two.)
