Make sure you bring a gas mask or something.Those airplane bathrooms can prove to be a little funky at times. :D

My friend moved there 6 years ago. We keep in touch regularly. The first year will be crazy because of all the excitement and new stuff. Then, it becomes...normal..lol. Have a safe flight out though.
 
I'm sure you don't need to be told this, but, make sure you appreciate the local food and language...

If you're out there long enough, maybe I'll get a chance to visit. I really need to get out of the States and travel more! I have yet to go to the far east. I've only been as far west as Maui and as far east as Greece.

I've seen some absolutely breath taking views of Kobe from the mountains looking down on TLC.(Before the quake)

I'm really happy for you GM. I'm hoping to head out there sometime early next year. So I'm counting on you to find the best vacation spots and eats. :D
 
Woah. I can't believe I didn't see this before. I'm in Japan right now actually. :lol

Just a trip though. I'm in Kyoto, which is not close to Okinawa. The food so far has been quite a bit of an adjustment, and the 15 hour time difference will throw you for a loop, also this is probably the most humid country in the world. BUT, the people are really nice, there are many amazing things to see and do, and just going for walks is more entertaining than any videogame.

I'll post a couple pics once I get back to Canada. There's not enough time to do that now.

Back on topic... that's really exciting that you'll be living in Japan GM. You're definitely going to have a great experience no matter what happens, so enjoy the opportunity of a lifetime! Best of luck, or should I say, がんばって!

Yeah, from what I've seen, Japan looks incredibly gorgeous so I can't wait to check that out. Thank you Stealth! :]

Just saw this. Sorry Mr.KAZ! I'm going because my Dad is getting stationed on Okinawa. And I wasn't about to let him go to Japan without me. Because that would just suck.
